Our most favorite accordion store has a number of accordions me and my husband personally selected on consignment right now.
They are not yet up on their website, but there are several models available, including an old student hohner model, a Rivelli in very nice condition, a Florintino with orange sparkly keys and light blue bellows....and more!
So, if you are in the market for an accordion, there are some nice inexpensive used ones there I personally approve of.
Also, don't forget the 3rd Saturday of the month is usually a workshop with Duckmandu, from 4-7 pm. He has really great technique and a wide range of styles in playing. This month he is teaching us how to play "Police Story" by Black Flag.
Check it out at http://www.accordionapocalypse.com/ They are based in South SF and also do repairs on accordions!

The Olympics have a Negative Impact on Vancouver accordion to Geoff Berner...Gee, who would have ever expected that!
Vancouver Accordionist Geoff Berner has written a song called
The Official Theme song of the Vancouver Whistler 2010 Olympic Games
Which is all about the taking money away from the community the Olympics is held in, and the impact it has on where they are held. In this case, unexplained orphan deaths will go unexplained because they cut the funding to have some big party for a bunch of athletes. Gee, that makes sense. Thanks, Geoff, for speaking for those who cannot or will not speak for themselves or dissent against something that's a ridiculous waste of money and effort.Saturday, January 30, 2010
